Terrace Bc 2013 the dream

Hi,somebody know some nice spot in the Skeena river near Terrace,Kitimat and other rivers? we'll be there in the middle of August till the end of the month. We fish scandi/skagit style for steelhead and salmons. We are from Italy and pick up a car in Terrace so not big distance to go fishing 100/150 kilometers max.
Thanks to everybody.

Don't expect exact directions or hand holding....100 - 150 km will give you more water then you'll ever be able to fish.

Just get out there. The nice spot will be the one with water flowing downhill

Exclamation

Google Earth!

Get your hands on a area map and do the GE thing. Even if the photo's are a bit dated (no idea for that area) and mark up a map. At worst, you have major bank access nailed down.

I suggest go to the local tackle shops.
There are 2 in Terrace, one on Highway 16 near a gas station and one in the center.
Ask them for spots where you have access to the river.
Remember, just as long as your fly is in the water you have a chance on fish!
Good luck.

My best memories are not too old!!

the shops to look for are
Misty River
Fishtales
Northcoast tackle
not sure which one will give you what you want but I listed them in order of the largest tackle sections. All of them should be helpful for decent local info

Avoid M R the last time I was in there the fly dept. was lacking......and something about supporting the BCWF/wild steelhead kill fishery campaign.

Agree. As a friend recently put it to me, its a hunting store which happens to carry the odd piece of fishing tackle.
