Quebec Salmon fishing survey

If you fish in Quebec for Atlantics , no matter the frequency, PLEASE take 30 minutes of your time to fill out this survey . I can't believe that it's come to fruition . Make your voice heard !!

Filled my copy in earlier. Heartening to see that C&R was being explored. Took every opportunity in the comment boxes to belabour the point the Quebec is lagging behind the rest of the world badly when it comes to C&R of Atlantic salmon (all salmonids in general frankly) and that C&R should be mandatory on all rivers at all times, regardless of whether the fish is an MSW or a grilse.

I disagree with mandatory CR on all rivers, all the time, and that Quebec is lagging behind the rest of the world in CR mentality. Lets just say much of Europe chaps every fish pulled out of the river.

Ive just completed the survey, as well.

I can't seem to be able to indicate my answer. I click, and nothing. Help?

You can catch a lot of fish, and you can keep a lot of fish. But you can't do both very long. Jim Timmins

I have NO idea ,but it's a start . IMO , I think you'll see a reduction in tags .
The economics of not going C&R are just not there anymore . There are C&R Quebec rivers that you'll have a hard time getting bookings on and that says a lot !!!
One of my highpoints from last year was talking to a 60+year old fisherman that was really into C&R because he said he learned MORE from releasing 3 fish a day than catching and killing one fish . The youngsters ,especially on Quebec's North Shore, are totally into C&R and releasing fish with out fuss and most will keep the fish in the water to better revive it !!
