Southern Oregon Visit

I just got back from Southern Oregon. Rogue, Chetco, Illinois, and North Umpqua. Absolutely beautiful people, food, landscape and water. Weather was very warm and sunny every day.

Alaska is beautiful, but I went to Oregon to fish. It was great!!! Nobody saw a steelhead, but we didn't care. One guy from Virginia and two from Alaska.

I would go back tomorrow without hesitation. There is such a great diversity of fishing! What a place to live. Anyone know a good realtor?

Thank you for a new friend, Bob and shared spirit. You, Sir, are a gem.

To those from that beautiful state, I thank you for sharing her. I can't wait to get back.

Great diversity of fishing here as you said. The west side and east sides of the state are very different, as are the north, south, and coastal areas. They all have their own personality. 2014 I will finally be making it up to AK, a life long dream of mine. It will be great to experience something so very different.

For retirement time you just can't beat living in Southern Oregon.Only place that I can think of (til early July anyway) where you be on water skis in the morning, river fish in the afternoon and have a good chance to use your snow boards in the evening.

Exclamation Fred Hush!

Yes, we all know how beautiful Oregon is. But let's not over play it here. We don't want to see this become like Californica!

I fish because the voices inside my head tell me to.

Wink We've already got it Jim ... but the good thing is ..

It's 300'ish miles to the north. Some call it Portland.

That's funny because last Thursday on the Rogue there were A LOT of anglers. Saw about 15 drift boats and or trailers in parking lots. Nearly every run or stretch of water had people on or near it. Plus all the parking areas require a $4 tag........it was crowded from the top down nearly to G.P. Just curious what weekends are like. Is this typical ?

For a week day, that is unusual; for a week end this time of the year, not to surprising. Reason is we're at the top of the winter run fishing season and the guides need some place to fish their clients.

Bye the bye the State boat ramps/parks have a $5.00 charge. County places are $4.00. That said, the daily fee (ticket) is honored anywhere so you can move from one place to another and not have to dig out a few more dollar bills.

fae
