Welllllllll, not everyone fishes green machines.

Having said that, you will do as well as anyone on the river with just these three on the Miramichi: Cutty Sark, Celtic Beauty, Glitter Bear. Sizes 10 to 4. Will be there 7/7-17, mebbe we'll see you there!

Great flies Gary..

As far as gm's go..I make sure NEVER to have one in my box, matter of principle I guess, .

I'll throw these out...

Carter bug

Muddler (marabou, regular, every color, whatever..)

Echo Beach - favorite July hair-wing

Hi Pete,

Water levels will impact on the sizes. High water in early July can have you with some large double hooks, while late July can be almost entirely throwing dry flies.
For me, I never hit the Miramichi without Green Machines in various sizes and colors; Cossebooms; Green Butts; Muddlers, and plenty of dry flies. On the Grand and Bonnie, I have Stoneflies; Silver and Rusty Rats; Picasses; and dry flies.
Jerry Doak at Doaks for the Miramichi, and Todd Sexton at Sextons on the Grand Cascapedia. They will sort you out for each stream, and Junior also has a well stocked micro-shop on site at Salmon Lodge.

Good luck!
Chris

My favorites for Miramichi at that time are smallish Sugerman Shrimp (#10 double is my favorite fly of all), green machine, shady lady, Same Thing Murray and Cosseboom with a dark green body, butterflies, various dries. As was stated earlier, size based on conditions

Now THAT^^ is a great list!!Throw in a couple Bombers and your all set.
I'll never understand why the snobbery towards Green Machines by some, other then the fact that by the time a salmon gets to Boisetown it's seen so many GMs it can tell you who tied it.There's a reason for that though....they catch ALOT of fish!
