I fished the Alagnak for several years. We typically got on the river around the 4th of July and floated it for 7-10 days. We got into some big rainbows in "the braids" and every island we had camped on had some really nice rainbows in the tail water. At that time of the year we would target the Sockeye salmon run and have 60-70 fish per person per day. When we floated down the river we would see an occasional King salmon shoot up the river below the boat but they seemed to stay in the fast, deep water. I remember them looking like submarines under our 8 person rubber raft. If you have any other questions let me know. I have some stellar fly patterns for sockeye.
