Canada Summer trip with the wives

Good morning all. I have been suffering through the closing of the season here in Ontario and my mind has already started to think of the summer. I am thinking of getting a week long trip together with a buddy who has been off the water for a year, while he is back at school and his wife, June or July. We are in Ontario Canada and would like to go somewhere there is some decent fly fishing (Spey would be fantastic, but single hand works as well) that would also keep the wives entertained. Fortunately both are wives are the outdoorsy type and do not mind tent city, however a little 5 star does go a long way. I have been thinking about Nova Scotia but I am open to suggestions. Last year we went to Newfoundland and would love to go again however the cost and the regulations with guiding makes me want to look for a cheaper alternative. Let me know your thoughts and suggestions.

Thanks
Brayden

Have you thought about PEI ??
Great brook trout fishing !!
Either single hander or switch rod would do just fine Brayden .
There are salmon around as well , so don't go under gunned . You could be fishing a rising brookie and a salar grabs your fly !!
I know a great guide as well for you , he'll get you into fish for sure !!

Mike

Have you Swung a Spey Fly today ??

Cape Breton

Could provide some good fishing IF there is water. Some great scenic drives on the Cabot Trail, and hikes in the park at Chetticamp. The Margaree does not require guides, and there are some pretty nice lodges as well as regular cabins. Check the Internet for happenings for your time period.

You can catch a lot of fish, and you can keep a lot of fish. But you can't do both very long. Jim Timmins

Where

the Nipigon has some great brook trout fishing, although I think that would push you to June? and the Niagara River has great fishing for a variety of fish in June and on into July, plus a ton of other things to do. Some of the Michigan Rivers have good fishing in June/July. St Mary's rapids is on my bucket list but I am not sure of the timing since I have not yet been there

If you'd like details or recommendations PM me your email and we can swap information
