Summer 2013 Adventure

Planning on coming out to Washington during the end of August, beginning of September. Wondering what kind of fishing oppourtunities are available around then? Wouldn't be opposed to driving to Oregon either if that makes a difference

We have summer steelhead (though not a lot) in western Washington rivers then. And in odd-numbered years, we have pink/humpy salmon that start arriving at that time in large numbers. Also searun cutthroat trout. Late summer is too warm for good resident trout fishing, except in mountain lakes. If you can hike uphill for the latter, you'll have the bonus of beautiful Cascade Mt. scenery, probably beyond your experience elsewhere.

2nd on Mark. If you are in the area mid September you can join Marks Steelhead PhD. I went last year for the full 6days. 3 days with Simon G and 3 days with Al Buhr. Signed up for this summer already, but only the Dec Hogan part which fits my schedule better and I also expect it to be less crowded. That is if you consider 9 angler in a largish camp a crowd.
