Washington or Oregon?

Hi!

Next year, I will probably be travelling to the West Coast more often and I would like to hear your opinion regarding which of these two destinations would offer the best Spey fishing oportunities. I work at the airport in Toronto, so I would be travelling in Stand By, which sometimes it gets hard to book guides and hotels in advance because you never know if you are going to make the flight. For locals who can help me, I would like to say that if you ever come to fish the Great Lakes around Southern Ontario, I would be glad to help you as well.

Thanks!

Hands down. Oregon. Washington has some great rivers, but it seems I find myself traveling south way more often

Lightbulb Oregon, hands down.

What time of the year? The 'where' is calendar dependent.

I predict

Sooner or later, Fred's B&B will come into play here.

I fish because the voices inside my head tell me to.

Thank you, guys, I will purchase an Oregon Sport Fishing License for 2013 and buy some guide books as well. I will also try to find a fishing guide who is OK with my uncertain conditions of travelling Stand By. For example, someone who could carry over a guided fishing day if I don't make the flight or similar deals.

Grass is always greener. Oregon guys dream of Washington. Washington guys dream of Oregon.

If catching fish is what you're into, and big ones to boot, go to Washington. Theres a little place that goes by the OP for starters.

These guys have got it pretty muched nailed.

'Reports' come out of Oregon F and G about every 10'ish days and from my 'Region' they're dead on. Dated? Yes, but they don't try to tell you what rock to stand on.

Winter fishing? 'Click' on the Region you're interested in: http://www.dfw.state.or.us/RR/steelhead_guide/index.asp

Probably true Jimmie, probably true. But you'll be here for dinner/fishing. You can count on that! Would be hugely disappointed if you weren't.

A guy who drives up and you just smile; a good fellow through and through.

But should say the 'bright yellow race car rocket' he drives is a 'chick magnet.' Must honestly say, his 'Girl Friends' RR retro is far my style. God I love the looks of that .. not a 'car/transportation/etc.,' but a Gentlemanly Automobile. "Transportation" taken to a higher level, right down to the white wall tyres.

Thank you, man, I will keep your contact and shoot a pm as soon as it gets closer. Again, since I travel stand by, I don't usually plan too long in advance.
