Skeena in Sping - Best time?

Hi,

once again I am thinking about travelling to the Skeena for Sping fishing. That would be my first time in BC stealhead fishing.
What is the best time? March or April? Any pros and cons?
I know weather is unpredictable and you never know...just need some guidance. It is one of the things I won't do too often - BC is quite a travel from Germany:-))

Thanks for your help!

I have never fished around there that early but from what I have heard it is very hit and miss in March (unless you are OK with targetting hold overs).

April would be a better time, I've had great and bad fishing then but that's steelheading. It's all about run timing, runoff conditions and weather.

It's never ok to target "hold overs"... Late April, early May is the time to be up there.

Late April to early May would be my choice too

Caught my first steelhead there on a lower trib.

I would mention that if this is a once in a lifetime trip, i'd hold off till the fall. Far more consistent fishing opportunities (well, as consistent as northern BC can get)
