My suggestion is to give Mike a call at 907-770-2666. I have not been although its a relatively short trip.

Watch the water temps. They where very cold this year and the fishing was off. I will also be up there then, hopefully the weather will be better. PM me if you need some specifics

I've gone the last 2 years. This year we arrived April 25th and last year May 1st. We have had a great time both years, but this year was a challenge. Happy to share my experience. Might have a couple of "gems" (i.e. things we learned the hard way...) depending on how you are planning your trip. Shoot me a PM.

Stay at the Glacier Bear Lodge. Great bar and food.

Rent a drift boat and float half the river before you start fishing. It is one long float. Normally, the fish near the put in are dark and less feisty. These are mostly older fall fish and should really be left alone as many are on their beds.

Fish tight to the wood on the deep sides of the river.

Don't be afraid of the bead.
