Muskegon River info needed

I'm looking for some straight forward reports about the Muskegon and the steelhead fishing. I'd like to get fishing, but it's a 3+ hour drive. Pm me with any info that way we don't broadcast spots if you like.

this is what I know right now on the Muskegon

Of course the water levels have been way down, everyone knows that. But we have been getting some just dandy rains. The river has jumped to 1800 cfs. I will be fishing this weekend for the first time. I will be working the area down from Newaygo. Still alot of salmon in the river, alot!. I have heard only a few steelhead caught, and my neighbor has not caught one yet, and he is my barometer. If this rain can keep coming we should be decent. My efforts will continue be in the most lower sections of the river and will working the area further up in November. I have someone staying at the cottage and will be spey fishing for almost a week. I will let you know what I find out.
