St Marys river gates opening???

I live in the sault and have been speycasting in the rapids, literally every day, for about 2 months now.
this past year, I have never seen the gates open, and my younger buddy told me about them opening this week, making the water unfishable.

I cant find anything on the internet about it, and I don't have much contact to local anglers. Any info would be great, because since this is my last week to fish it before I move to school. I don't want to be stuck on the american side next time I go.

Thanks,
Andrew

There are people who preach the water is very unsafe as it is right now. Trust me andrew, the few that truely know the water, will still be fishing just maybe not walking across certain areas that make most people's eyes pop out Good luck in school and it was nice meeting you out there this summer.

i cant remember wher i found it online, but i found a website that had all the timing about when the gates were going to open. ill post it if i find it,
but if you look around you should find it. when a you get a full gate or more open she gets a little ricky walking around in there right now its a joke. i tink its at 1/4 gate now?

According to the Lake Superior State website the number of gates currently
open is "6" as of 5 minutes ago. Sounds like they are working on the gate openings. This indicates to me that wading would be hairy if at all possible. I've waded with 2 1/2 gates open-crossing above the Canadian Hole towards the American side, and it was "eyes wide open" tough. Ive never seen six opened at once. ? Water temps are 66.2F
