I've got an itch which needs to be scratched...
We're selling our house and we've purchased a new one. Of course, we couldn't line up the closings with one another, so I will be without a home for at least the first week of August. As of now, I have no work nor other commitments and it would be nice to try to hit another salmon river while I can.
Wife willing (which is HIGHLY uncertain at this point
), I'd like to make a quick jaunt to Canada for 3 or 4 days of salmon fishing.
Is it worth the trip this season? What usually fishes well at that time? I was considering the Matane, as I hear that usually fishes best in late July/August.
I'm not really ruling anywhere out. The only criteria is it has to be budget friendly and within a one-day drive from Connecticut.
Any reports, ideas, predictions, etc.?? Thanks!
