Cheers klink, the rivers very spatey thurs it rose to 6ft Friday it was back to 2 1/2ft and yesterday it was at 1 1/2ft I'd say it was back down this morning although the rain today and tommorrow will have it back up again... To fish glenmores water is Ä50 a day for the open water which is about 50km, then I think it's Ä50 to fish the beat for half a day limited to 3 rods... You can also get a season ticket for the open water for Ä300 notes... Hope that helps

too late

Hi Klink, you are too late for the Rory Gallagher festival (May 2nd )
But the fishing will be good later, as mid summer seems to be a bit flat around Donegal, Estuary fishing can be very good ,silver and blue in salt and gold and orange in fresh water.PM ME for info on rivers and accommodation.
The finn is a great little river when it has plenty of water.
Nice fish Pete, if you are a local, you are indeed blessed.
Thank you for showing me what I am missing !!!!!!!

Brian.

Thanks Brian, I'll give you a shout if I do get to head that far north. Might try and combine it with a couple of days on the Moy on the way back down. Now saying that, the fishing here on my local is picking up well so we will wait and see.

what is your local river ?

Hi Pete. do you come down from the North or up from the South ?
What is your local river ?
Has the fishing picked up since the netting at sea ban ?

Klink .have a look at the Moy by all means but save your cash .
10 people following each other down. step and cast . step and cast not for me !
Above the Ridge pool it is mainly bait water. more fish below 4 lb than above !
If you must. try and get on the Church beat. this is below the Ridge pool and you tend to fish the South Bank ( left hand ) looking down stream so if it is windy you can shelter and still fish .
You are very spoiled , I would not leave the Blackwater to fish the Moy.
The drive around the ring of Kerry is mind blowing on a fine day going to fish CORRAN .were the small sea trout are bigger than Moy salmon.
There are plenty of nice rivers from Sligo upwards. but ALL need plenty of water.
