Ouananiche near Montreal

The Niche ( Landlocked Salmon) season in the Montreal vicinity has started off rather spectacularly ( except for yesterday ) .Tuesday ,everyone were into fish like crazy !! One 9 or 10 lb fish was caught and my biggest was at 27 inches long . Ratio of females to males is 10 to 1 . It's only going to get better and better until the 12th of May .

Hi Kevin
I'm heading back up north early in the morning and will get back to you by Saturday night by email .The landlocked fishing is still good both to the north and in NY State .However once the Smelt run that's it as it's as if a switch suddenly turns the fishing off
Cheers
