Alaska in July

Hi everyone
The family and I just booked 10 days in Alaska in July.
I have started researching where and how we are going to go but was looking for some input from you guys. We just booked a flight into anchorage and leave 10 days later and that is all we have planned now. Since I will be with the family this will not be a usual fly fish all day adventure but if you guys were going where would you want to fish? I'm not opposed to driving to somewhere as we have nothing booked and we could book hotels or get an RV according to where we wanted to go.

Shoot me a PM.
We have been going up to see friends each summer for 10 days for the last 7 years. Family w/ kids age 10 & 7. Have done everything from tent camp to renting RVs. Big decision will be whether you want to go to Denali Park and down to Homer because of the distance.

I'll be less helpful with regards to great spey casting options as I've just taken up a double handed rod.

Alaska Ideas

Send a PM. I would be happy to give my thoughts. Please begin by family interests and highlights you want to include. Will you only 2H cast, or single too. You may want to say bye to your neighbors before coming (you may not want to go back).

Not to steel anyone's thread, but I just watched the video. Pretty great.

I worked on the Kenai for a couple of years but never brought my two hander... maybe should have. Never crossed my mind that there would be anywhere where a guy had a prayer to hit a kind on a fly rod... lots of power boats and somewhat tough access on the lower. Pretty cool to see.

although its crowded almost anywhere you go during July on the peninsula. If you get a chance to fish the Kasilof or the Kenai it would be awesome. You would have to search for fly water (and by that I mean somewhere there aren't many boats). I know you can find spots as I have the last couple years there. Chartrues with a little pink is what I've had my best luck on those rivers. Orange works well too
