Portland, OR Dec 24th-Jan2nd

I will be in Portland visiting family for the dates specified in the title. I was looking for someone to maybe fish with on either the Sandy or the Clackamas or both for a couple days. I am not sure I have enough funds for a guide so I thought I would look for a second person to go fish with. I am a fairly experienced steelheader but have not fished the Washington or Oregon fisheries. I have fished BC and great lakes tribs. I will be bringing a few Meisers with me, so if you are interested in trying either an MKS, Highlander switch or Highlander S and are going to be out next week send me a PM. I can arrange for my own transportation as necessary. Any additional suggestions for pull offs or anything like that would be greatly appreciated in a PM. Thank you.

Hey Bill,

There is another member heading to Portland (during MKL weekend) who has posted a similar request. You might find some useful info there as far as the Sandy, maybe WA tribs if you're open to travel. Hopefully something will work out for you. We, well at least I, would like to read a trip-report from you.

This maybe of some help:

Thanks Victor, I did see the post below. I think i have some sort of game plan and will post a trip report when I return. It will be educational none the less. Thanks again for the fishing report link. Tight lines.

Flyfish23,

I haven't fished the Sandy or Clack because I live further north in WA. I have next week off, and if the Cowlitz remains low I'll likely be down there fishing. I use a boat - for transportation, not fishing from - and you're welcome to a seat in it.

Ha, this is awesome! How often does that happen?

Just talked to a good friend who lives just a few minutes from the river. His report: "very good recently, but crowed of course." That can be expected for the top producer in the state, and boat is a must for getting away from those crowds.

Very good form of you to offer a seat to a fellow member. !

Flyfish23,

The Cowlitz remains low, and I'll likely be fishing it Wednesday & Thursday & maybe Friday if you're looking to try a WA river, PM me.
