Lodges and names on the Dean?

Hi Folks,

My spey buddies and I are seriously starting to think about trying the Dean sometime in the next few years.

It's a budgetary stretch but if we save enough we might be able to do it.

Question. I'm totally confused about all the lodges and their names and ownership as things seemed to have changed.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Hodson's Dean River Lodge = above canyon, main lodge and further upstream lodge, black boats, split-days fishing, fully guided every day, lodge located on riverbank

Lower Dean River Lodge = BC West? or Sweet Water (aka Stewarts?)= in Dean delta main lodge and river camp, fish above and below canyon, blue boats, only guided on days below canyon, ATV and DIY above canyon? 10 minute walk to river

Blackwell's Dean River Lodge = in Dean delta, 10 minute drive to water, fish above and below canyon, guided everyday? This is the one Ms. Vokey guides at now...?

Any clarifications would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

hodsons - you have it mostly correct. Danny has an upp camp above Kalone Ck. that his main lodge guests fish during their stay if conditions permit

Lower Dean Lodge (formerly Stewart's) - Lower camp is above canyon and close to Hodsons. The new camp for guests is off the river and is now a 4x4 trip to river due to the damage to the old camp by floods. the old camp is used for staff.

Upper Camp is above Moose and at about 17.5 mile. 2 anglers and guide only up above and long waiting list for dates.

BC West is the lodge below the canyon...owned and operated by Deneki.

You almost have it, Hodsons has two lodges, above the canyon is their lower lodge, above Giants is their upper lodge. Morning and evening hunts is the rule, located on the river. Stewarts Lower Dean River Lodge is now owned by Sweetwater, still referred to as Stewarts, managed by Billy and Mandi Blewett, they also operate an upper lodge between Moose and Giants, located on the river. Nakia was sold to BC West and is located below the falls (canyon) and provides ATV's to hunt the water above the falls to about the motor dead line. Blackwells is located down river and is a neighbor of Nakia's (BC West). Both Blackwells and BC West concentrate on the lower, below falls water, and Stewarts and Hodsons the upper water. I am not to clear as to if Blackwells accesses the water between the falls and motor deadline but BC West does. Well worth the investment, simply put, trip of a lifetime.

Chas and Jumbo. Thank you very much.

4 lodges vs. 3 is what was confusing me.
