Gaspe Accommodations?

Looking for recommendations for places to stay in or around Gaspe, Quebec. Interested in mid-range cost lodging.

Thanks!

Motel plante

very affordable , you can get a room with a small kitchenette so you can prepare your own meals. Located in the town of Gaspe, just a stone throw from the dartmouth,st Jean and york river Zec office.

I have only been there once and fished the matapedia.

I stayed at the Motel Restigouche, it is right on the matapedia and the confluence of the Restigouche. It has a good restaraunt, a small fly shop for the basics, localy tied flies, and a staff with a strong knowledge to what is going on and very helpful in deciding on where to fish on the matapedia. I would stay there again if I wanted to fish the matapedia.

Even if you are just passing though, it is worth stopping in the restaraunt, as they have lots of great photos, artwork, and the food is pretty good too..

If you're looking for some do-it yourself options, Ann Smith has contacts for some nice little cottages. My buddy and I stayed on the banks of the St Jean in a snug little cottage this past June while fishing the three rivers. Had all the comforts of home, we cooked for ourselves, and it cost about the same as a motel nightly. No motel has a deck facing the river, a wood burning stove, and is situated in the woods!
We liked it so much, we've already reserved the same cottage for a couple of weeks next spring.
