Where to stay and eat in Houston,BC

Leaving Mon for 2 weeks and will fish the Morice first. Plan to stay in Houston, and while I have driven through many times none of the motels or eating establishments has really caught my eye. Any info on the "best" places to sleep and eat would be appreciated.

Keep in mind this is a small northern B.C. "mill town".

Most people stay at the Pleasant Valley Motel. They make a decent breakfast and if you are lucky they have East Indian special nights every few weeks.

Lee's Garden makes the best Chinese west of P.G. and east of Rupert. They have a buffet every Friday night ( maybe Saturday too ) that is popular with the locals. On a good night they serve caribbean lobster tail and Safeway birthday cake for desert included in the buffet!

When you want some better food go to Smithers. Highly recommended is the Log Pile Lodge and the Trackside Cantina.

Good Luck !

Best eating in Smithers

Can't really recommend anywhere except for the 7-Eleven in Houston, however Rob's Restaurant is awesome in Smithers, just openened up this year and I have eaten there half a dozen times and not had anything but excellent so far,

The new sushi place Masa Yama at the end of Main St. I like better than Blue Fin.

If you want burgers or pizza then Chatters can't be beat.

I still haven't made it in there yet. The wife goes quite often for lunch and is always pleased.

A new fishing ( gear ) / sports store just opened up on the Hwy., west of 7-11, next to All West Glass. I assume they are a vendor.
