Canadian Border

The Canada-U.S. border will remain closed to non-essential travel for another 30 days. My expectation is that there will be further extensions. Not so good for salmon anglers coming to Quebec or New Brunswick.

Yup, that appears to be the case. A friend sent me pics of my place on the miramichi taken this morning. Sigh. But I think keeping the border closed is the right thing to do.

In the province of Quebec they have, on monday, lifted the barrier for : Gaspe and Bas St-Laurent. But travelling to those regions, if your are a not from there , is not recommended if not essantial. Even, if the barrier are lifted, the police will patrol and can fine you ($1,500.00) if you don't obey. Anglers living in these regions can go fishing for a day at a time. But only in their own region.

Mike
That is correct as far as NB is concerned - no entry unless essential.

This site is updated on a daily basis . In French only

https://blogue.tourisme-gaspesie.com...vos-questions/

Just got off the phone with the GGRMP (( Matapedia) and they are also waiting for the OK from the Qc. Gov’t )

9 children and 9 adults at a school in Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gaspé were hit with the c-virus this week and the school was closed on Wednesday .This follows another outbreak in the same village in April.

Border Xing ?????

The Canadian U.S. is somewhat porous, as this A.M. I saw 3 alien licenced vehicles

One North Carolina ,who drove like a scared novice

And two Virginia plates

A moron NB health care worker traveled to Quebec, back to NB, saw lots of patients...new covid-19 cases in the Cambelton (sp?) area (region 5) as of today. That will NOT help open the borders anytime soon. Moron is the nicest thing I can think of to say about that person.
