Kootenai in ID, MT

Found some older threads on this, but curious if anyone has fished the Kootenai and tribs in NW MT and N. ID? I know there are big fish, and it is big water, so sounds like it is perfect for a two-hand rod? Embarrassed to say I have not fished that area even though I grew up just across the border in NE WA.

I have been jonesing to get out with my two-hand rods since the steelhead needed a break this fall on my local waters. Starting to look at places for spring / summer beyond my usual N.ID cutthroat water.

Little known fact: it's actually called the Kooten. However, when the Americans asked the Canadians what that river was called, they responded, "that's the Kooten, eh."

Also, the Moyie was originally known simply as the Moy.
