Upper Skeena

I have an opportunity to helicopter in to the upper Skeena to swing for steelhead. I’ve heard some great things, has anyone fished the upper reaches of the Skeena? Thanks
Michael

I haven't but I'd say go for it! Your life can end tomorrow, steelhead runs are diminishing, get out there and do those bucket thing lists while you can.

Fish or no fish it will be an epic trip!

I've done it a couple of times; most recently about two weeks ago. When conditions are right the water is a breathtakingly blue/green unlike other parts of the system. Depending on how high up you go you are basically fishing for Sustut fish and a few smaller tribs, so the fish tend to be fewer than you might expect. To say it is beautiful and quiet would be an understatement. Go, fish it, enjoy it, just don't expect to have a special catching day.
