Quebec 2018 salmon run + catch statistics report

Hi All, ASF has published an English translation of the 2018 Quebec Salmon and catch statistics report Introduction and a link to the report (in french). Can be an interesting read for some. I'm still depressed about the catch and kill stats, but will avoid you all my usual rant on that…

Should be able to access it here.

Enjoy!

Thanks Simon for posting .I agree about the catch and cook idiots comment .
It will remain so as long as the FQSA continues as it is ,especially with it's new director I'm on the Matapedia right now and he's well known for filling ALL his tags
BTW, the ice is broken @ 20lbs . Fantastic fight, 4 strong runs and 7 leaps into the air !!
Concrete Angler and SimonD like this.

Don't sweat the bad casts for they sometimes bring you fish

That's great Brian, hope you get a few more 20+ fish while you are there! I'll be happy this year just getting a good tug on the line while hopefully improving my spey casts! :0) I have modest expectations.

I still haven't taken my FQSA membership and won't until they seriously change their ways and start working on conservation of the resource, not just promotion of the activity of salmon fishing. I thought last year's administrative changes in staff would have helped things along in that sense. I get the impression from your comments, that might not be the case. I also get the impression the mere existence of the FQSA is hampering ASF from being more present in Quebec (politics). But maybe that's just an impression...
