Hawaii - oahu

It looks like I may be spending a few days in Hawaii, specifically Oahu, in March. So naturally I thought this might be my first and only shot at bonefish. Is March a reasonable time to fly fish in Hawaii? Can anyone recommend a guide for a day? Any resources that you would recommend? I am all ears!

As always, thanks.

Jim

I can't understand why some folks think a drink can is harder to carry out when it is empty than it was to carry in when it was full.

Lots of threads over at Washington Fly Fishing forum that covers this topic in detail. Google search will also lead you to a few personal blogs on how to DIY in Ohau.

Jim, a buddy of mine, Mike Hennessy, runs Hawaii on the fly give him a call or send him an email. he can put you on some amazing bonefish on Oahu and is as good of a guy as you'll find. He'll be able to answer all of your questions.

cheers

Hennessy and Hawaii in the Fly are awesome, but in high demand and they fill their dates quickly! Mike is very responsive and straight up on what’s available. If your dates don’t work with his openings, I suggest giving Jesse Cheape a call. He’s a local and very knowledgeable. I spent a day with him on the flats and really enjoyed it.
