Scotland Atlantic Salmon fishing~ Off to a good start
Looks like the fishing in Scotland is starting well .Last year there was a dearth of early fish which transposed over to our shores and early fishing was really quiet
Pic # 1 shows
LOOP team member Ruaraidh Tainsh with a proper springer from Beat 6 of the River Naver in Sutherland Sunday .
The fish weighed 16lbs and was caught on a 1.5inch Willie Gunn style conehead on a slow sink line. It was quickly photographed in the hands of Altnaharra Ghillie Peter MacGregor and released to continue its journey.
Great job guys!
Pic # 2 shows the "first fish "of the River Moriston caught by John Macisaac Yesterday A nice January fish that measured at 40Ē estimated at 25lb and safety returned. Well done John!!
Let's hope the " tropical " minus 24 to 28 C. reported in Ste Jules goes the f##k away and gets back to a normal temp. My stash of heavy copper tubes made for last year hopefully will be able to washed / swung this year
Don't sweat the bad casts for they sometimes bring you fish
