Question Grey Reef, N. Platte R. options?

Hi everyone,
I am thinking about making the 3-h run from Fort Collins up towards the Grey Reef stretch of the North Platte river to swing some flies - essentially, my local rivers are locked up and I'm desperate for some open water fishing. I was wondering if anyone knows what conditions are like up there and if I'm just chasing a pipe dream. I plan on getting in touch with a couple of the Casper fly shops and might rent one of their overnight rooms or cabins, or, if I'm feeling particularly frisky, might just make it a one-day trip.
