Vancouver to Calgary via Revelstoke

Hi
2 weeks on Saturday and I'm hiring an RV for 2 weeks of discovery along the Fraser, Harrison, Vedder, Lillooet and Thompson...
I've got a guide on the Harrison but hope to squeeze in a few DIY days for anything likely to attack a swinging fly. We are targeting the chum salmon I think but what else might be fishable please at this time of year and in this area?
I've never caught a bull trout, is there anywhere I can try for these too? Any recommmendatjons? Do I use mini Skagit tactics and Wooley buggers/sculpins for these? Any bull trout advice much appreciated too
If you're in the area, let's meet up and have a cold beer too
John

I fished the Elk, Wigwam and Bull rivers near Fernie a couple of years ago.
Had some nice bulls there, but that was in July.
At the Elk I was fishing for cutthroat and at least 2 or 3 times a cutty was taken by a large bull, so use large sculpins is my advice!
They do't have a problem with 2" size flies.
Do also check if you need a Classified Water licence over there beside your weekly or annual BC licence.

Anyway, have fun!

Bram

The Columbia river at Golden is good bull trout water .Easy access to Hwy 1. Use big rabbit strip flys or sculpins. Get hold of The Golden Ghillie Dave Burns or the local TU Golden Chapter

lilloet

The lilloet will have mostly dollys, a few larger native rainbows and some bulls. I had luck with olive and brown rabbit strip stuff. Did better on casting and stripping than I did swinging them.

What I lack in skill --- I make up for with enthusiasm.

Great advice, would the dolly garden take rabbit strip flys too then? And would you swing it out on a 11'6 #7 or just a trout rod 9'6" #6?
Thanks for the tips everyone

Bull trout is easy fish. It takes most of the rabbit flies. Rivers in Revelstoke have plenty of them.

Re-route further north over N. Saskatchewan Crossing towards Rocky Mountain House to sneak around and drift some dries for the spooky ol' big browns on Staufer Cr. Pay your respects to local advocates that have brought that stream back from near-death to it's current state of barely-hanging-on. PM if you have questions about access.
