Margaree closure

Closure of angling in a portion of Margaree River (NS) due to high water temperatures - DFO - Gulf - Recreational Fisheries

Lower margaree closed until further notice due to the heat, for the first time ever I believe. Climate change is upon us folks.

Only Makes common sense, all the river should be closed and as Responsible Anglers we should not require a directive

I think I fish, in part, because itís an anti-social, bohemian business that, when gone about properly, puts you forever outside the mainstream culture without actually landing you in an institution. ĖJohn Gierach

The facts are all there, unfortunately some people still keep their head in the sand and pretend it’s a hoax, while the vast majority of science tells us it’s the real deal. Ive heard the “nature will sort itself out” a hundred times, however Mother Nature did not account for the extraction and burning of fossil fuels. Even if there was a possibility in that theory, I’d rather play it safe anyways, in hopes my kids will actually be able to touch a wild steelhead or Atlantic in something other than a museum.

Another mass extinction has been underway for a couple hundred years brought to the Earth by the ultimate invasive species. Are we finally getting the message as things really start to get hot?

Look at the bright side. Within a few million years of our passing, the Earth will recover and all that will remain of us will be the most robust archaeological and fossil records ever laid down. And capping it all will be a layer of coal as the system cleans up after us putting all that carbon we burned back into long term storage. What a fitting tombstone.

Just the view of an old geologist well trained in climate science and Earth history.

We same over here. All north Europe Salmon fishing has more less been disaster this season. We've had no decent rain since March, and heatwave since May. Our rivers are boiling, most fish sitting in sea and cat run the river , and needles to say being gobbled up by Dolphins and seals every tide. Norway same situation, sunshine , drought, and high water temp. Soul destroying best description this season for me.
Have we got more this to look forward too ?
