Anyone for York / Dartmouth in Gaspe this spring?

So, its about six weeks and counting but I've been counting down for about 44 weeks now.... !

I know that there are concerns over the spring melt not having kicked in yet, and I'm kind of expecting high water for the first two weeks of the season, but, it will take much more than that to keep me away, and you just never know until the days just before what to really expect.
Since this year I'm going it alone, thought I'd toss out a friendly invite to anyone else thinking of fishing these rivers at the start of the season. I can show newcomers to the region the rivers, explain the regulations, guide to the better pools, tail your fish, take your picture, have a great time! (I plan on fishing plenty too).

I'll be settled in at the motel mid-day on Saturday the 26th of May.
My fishing days are the 26th through to the 9th of June inclusively.
I've not got any reserved sectors this year, but will be on the 48 hour draws each day, and the open waters hold plenty of special spots.
Got 4x4 wheels and gear to share. I'm easygoing, but passionate about the sport and support safe catch and release.

If you are interested in meeting up for a day or two, or even a whole week, get in touch.

See you there!
My buddy and I will be there as usual. This year I blocked off June 1-10, although have some flexibility to arrive earlier or leave later as conditions suggest. We did banner well on the draw and phone-in (Dartmouth 2, York 4, 6), so will only be doing open water first couple of days.
Given the size of the snow pack and the late arrival of spring, we may just be up to our necks in cold water this year. We'll see...

Cheers,
Troy

Cool beans Troy, if you're buddy happens to opt out on sector 6 or dartmouth 2 (AS IF!!), then I'd love to hop on the extra rod! All these seasons, I've never been able to get on the Falls yet!

Thanks again for snapping that picture of me last year on Petit-Fourche. It's been my desktop wallpaper ever since (and my avatar pic here), keeping me going all winter long

That was a nice fish! Hopefully the salmon are as large and fat this year.

This is very tempting. Was planning on the bonaventure again this year in June, but those early fish are tempting.

Hey concrete, I'll be there for a short trip fishing sector 2 on the York the 5th and 6th with a friend. Not impossible that I stay one day more to fish on the Darmouth the 7th which I have never fished. I guess it will depend on the water levels and my luck on the firsts days ! Maybe we could meet up for a fish or ... a beer ! Cheers! Hang on, only a couple weeks left

I absolutely love fishing Grande-Fourche in sector 2. Never had a fish there but always a very memorable day. What a beautiful spot!

We're all watching those water levels now; Obviously hoping for the best, counting down the days, nay, even the hours until I pull out of the driveway.

We'll be there June 16-22. Having Ann Smith take care of the draws so we can just fish. Trying to sort out what rods and lines to bring not knowing how wide the rivers are. Staying at Camping Gaspe site 20. Our first time there and looking forward to it.

7wt 2-hander (12.5-13') with a floating scandi setup with possibility to use sinking polyleaders if the water is still high or still cold (usually not either by that point). Skagit lines definitely not needed on any river there, and frequently frowned upon if you're ripping up the pool. An 8wt single hander for dries if you want since by mid-June, water can be warm enough to temp some up to the surface for sure.

Thanks Troy just what I thought to bring. Leaving skagits at home.
