NorCal in mid- April

Hello

I have a business trip to Sonoma area in mid April and was looking to extend it a couple of days to fish.
any suggestions on options. I will most likely rent a car so I can drive a ways. I am there the weekend before Spey O Rama and was hoping to stay for that but may not be able to afford the time. Any suggestions are much appreciated

By that time I think youíre pretty much into trout time around Northern California, but Sonoma is a few hours from most of the good trout fishing. Not all streams would be open just yet either, so that does limit choices a bit more. I donít mean to discourage, but that is possibly one of the most in between times you could pick for fishing... 2-3 weeks earlier or later would have more options. If your dates are fixed and youíre interested in some trout options Iíd be happy to go into more specifics via PM.
Cheers,
JB

i live in sonoma county and and i agree with jason, that is not a great time frame fishing wise, but putah creek would be a good option for trout and if you like fishing the surf, the southern sonoma coast would be a good choice for surf perch, both with in an hour of sonoma proper. cameron

Most rivers close to steelhead on April 1st in NorCal. Please be aware and careful not to fish for spawning fish or walk on redds.
