Clearwater mid September?

I'm going to be in the Lowell area around the second week of September. Besides hitting the Locsha and Selway would it be worth while to bring a spey rod for the Clearwater? How is the Clearwater generally fishing then and is there access in the Lowell area? Thanks in advance!

September is a great time to be on the Clearwater. It's a good time to skate dries or swing the standard Steelhead flies.

The Clearwater Spey Clave is around that same time period. Check with POPPY at the Red Shed in Peck

It should be noted that the Locsha and Selway are not open for steelhead. You'll have to drive down to Kooskia before you are on any water open to steelhead.
