Ireland in later half of June?

Hi Folks,

I contemplating visiting Ireland this month (June) from the 22nd to July 3rd.

I've never fished for Atlantics before...(and would consider browns and sea-runs).

No doubt I'll be playing tourist a bit in Dublin and other famous areas, however, I could be based in Sligo (Northwest) as I'd have free accomodations there.

Any thoughts or advice on rivers I should consider trying to fish?

Moy? Blackwater? Shannon? Others?

I've never fished a river with public and private beats. Advice on worthwhile beats to pay for and/or guide/outfitters to consider?

Thanks in advance,
Preston

I've spent some time in Sligo and there is some fishing close to town that was decent. The Drumcliff River area up to Glencar Lake was scenic and nice, they have a run of salmon, searun browns and some resident browns. It's a smaller river but there were fish and it's a beautiful area. There is also fishing in the lake where you can rent a boat and fish there as well. There are more opportunities in Co Mayo and Donnegal as well, but this was a nice area that is very close to Sligo.
