Skeena in 2009 - Advice needed!
This coming year I am planning spending a week up north fishing the Skeena system. Typically I fish north of Rupert with my fishing buddy but he is ill and will not likely be able to make that trip so I have settled on fishing the fabled Skeena drainage for the first time. I am looking to spend a week anywhere from September through December and am pretty flexible on that time. I am also pretty open about targeting salmon versus steelhead. Essentially if it’s big, chrome and it eats the fly I am in.
I have a reasonable budget as far as these things go so what I am looking for is advice on when then fishing is best in the system for salmon (and if I can get overlap of salmon and steelhead – great) and which lodges people like best, guide names etc. Please feel free to PM if you like I’d love to hear from anyone. I have been mulling this over for a long time so all the advice I can get is welcome.
