Hi Roolis, I hope an Irish flyfisher will give some information about salmon fishing. I've heard that salmon catches improved since they bought out the commercial net fishermen!
I will go to Ireland next Wednesday and fish for strong Irish pike and brown trout on Lough Derg near Shannon till Sunday June 22nd.

greetings from the Netherlands!!

My best memories are not too old!!

Roolis,

I look after most of the best salmon fishing in the North of Ireland and if you PM me I will see what I can arrange for you. It is very dependent on weather conditions and we need a bit of rainfall at the minute although I do also have access to the best low water fishing in the country. I will be in Russia when you are here but I can team you up with one of our registered guides.

Regards

Gordon

I agree with Gordon we need rain ,a lot of rain . I can arrange salmon fishing in the South East of Ireland on the Nore, Suir and the Slaney but all the rivers are too low for good salmon fishing at present .
The Stop the net campaign has had an immediate effect on the salmon stocks in my local river the Nore last season I got 57 salmon in only 30 days fishing all on the fly

With the rivers low ,go and fish Currane ,good chance of salmon ,mainly grilse and the main catch sea run browns ,all done from a drifting boat .
Definitely my favorite Irish destination .

Hi Roolis
How about the Blackwater. See www.ireland-salmon-fishing.net for details.
Plenty of availability for the coming weekend.
Plenty of rain falling today too which means there could be a rise in the river which could ensure good sport in the coming days.
