Terminal 5

I am travelling to Russia via Stockholm next month via T5, has anyone been through it with oversize luggage and lived to tell the tail?

You must be going via 'Terminal Error':

Due to BAA & BA running the debacle, I have vowed NEVER to go anywhere via T5!

I would suggest that your luggage passing through that system has nothing in it that you may require in Russia! as paddling up to your bare essentials in <10C water without a fishing rod or flies is not going to be conducive to landing many salmon!

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles (spey rods). Doug Larson

As I follow a couple of UK based fishing boards, Roiters (sp?) and the BBC ... all appears 'quite on the western front.'

Well, I would avoid Heathrow all together. It is not just T5.
If you have less then 2 hours between flights, your luggage will not make it.
It is so common now, that if you arrive at for example Amsterdam the documents for lost luggage are already waiting. In the last years I had my luggage "lost" on every trip while I had transferflights on Heathrow. If you fly to any other airport those issues are not occuring.

I've been through T5 twice recently, once with lots of kit and had zero problems.......clearly major teething problems but they seem to have been sorted out. That said, I am using it again in the next week and have probably spoken too soon! Haven't forgotten the Wt 8 fly rod and reel by the way!
