Downtown Tacoma??

HI,

I have business in downtown Tacoma later this month near the I-5/705 junction. Would someone please point me to the nearest/best spots for a dawn patrol session?

Thanks,

Rob

There aren't usually too many fish running through downtown Tacoma this time of year. If you were to come back in the early winter, sometimes we get gullywashers that put salmon on the highways though. At these times a shorthead system, intermediate tip and size 6 Temple Dog usually works well.

If you insist on fishing though, you might have slim pickings and many of the rivers close 3-15 and the ones that stay open until teh end of the month are a fair drive from Tacky-ma.

Downtown T Town

If you have a little more time, you can run down to the cowlitz about hour and ten minutes south. I would be interested in joining you as well. I bring the drift boat...

I live in Puyallup, I fished the puyallup when it was open and got one fish that somehow the indians didn't get in their nets. Otherwise I've been concentrating on the Sauk/Skagit (open till 3/31) and did fish the Cowlitz too .... watch the flows and go if it is down for sure.

There are two clubs in the area to get to know some folk to fish with ... the puget sound fly fishers (tacoma) and the alpine fly fishers (Puyallup/Canyon Road) (I belong to that one).

There are silvers and cutts out in the narrows. lots of different opportunities abount. The OP is a drive but can be worth it if you hit it right. I had some friends head over monday and got blown out.

add a w to make the links work.
