A lot of rain in IRELAND

The big flood washed away part of a 300 year old weir at Thomastown on the river Nore

This has changed the river up stream of the weir the water level has dropped about 3ft the pool above the weir was 300 yards of slow moving water with an average depth of about 8ft now it is a beautiful fly fishing stream about 5ft deep and a good speed to swim a fly around in. The next two pools up stream are now faster and much more defined, cant wait till the 17th of March (opening day) to try out all this new fly water, I will keep you posted.

This is the new fly stream it onece was a slow flowing mill pond look at it now.

This is down stream of the weir this was always a good stream to catch a salmon, hope it still is.

High water

Wow, realy high water Dysart!
I was in Ireland a couple of weeks ago. A friend moved to Killaloe 4 years ago and he invited me to fish on Lough Derg so I did. We caught some nice pike and also a very nice brown trout of about 8 lbs!

My best memories are not too old!!
