Royal Deeside-Scotland

Good afternoon to you all and a big hello from the highlands of Scotland.
I am writing to let you know that the Atlantic salmon season for 2008 has commenced on most of the top rivers in Scotland. Some of the members and viewers of this site will have visited Scotland before and fished its stunning rivers.

I am working as the Dee fisheries development officer for the river board and am reponsible for the press and media reports through traditional and on-line mediums.I can say that the River Dee has kicked -off the season in a bit of style with quite a number of big multi sea winter salmon arriving in good conditions. We have had a number fo fish in the mid to high twenties of pounds and have had one stonking great fish of 52 inches reported caught and returned. We have a conservation code on the river and aim to return 100 per cent of all catches on the system and we have a very high uptake on the catch and release initiatives that have been in place since 1994.

So if any reader wants to visit and fish well hop on a plane and come over to Scotland where the River Dee in Scotland has possibly the finest early spring run of salmon in the world. Some of the other attractions aint so bad either. There's Aberdeen Angus beef and The finest seafood landed locally to be consumed with another of our fine products malt whisky, made on our doorstep. If anyone wants some contact details if you are thinking about visiting Scotland please pm me or e-mail me at [email protected] and I will be happy to provide you with information.
