Guidance Needed (Sandy/Clackamas)

Hello,

I am planning a trip to Portland for either the last week in May or the first week in June. I wanted to swing flies and have read that the Sandy and Clackamas CAN be good that time of year depending on conditions. I would greatly appreciate any advice on flies and/or locations. I am planning on fishing one day with a guide and two days on my own, so if you know of any good guides who primarily swing please let me know.

Jared

I don't know of any guides in that region, but I would imagine the fine folks at The Fly Shop in Welches would steer you in the right direction.

Brian Silvey or Marty Sheppard, book them all three days. Without a boat its pretty limited. You can walk into a few runs but it will take some work.

Ok, I will definitely look into all of those options and thank you for the advice on shops/guides. I definitely would like to hire a guide for one day, but the rest of the time my brother and I are going to try to fish on our own. I realize it is limiting walking in without knowing the river, but if we catch one on our own it will be worth it. Thank you again and keep the advice coming if you have the time.
