North Santiam question (Oregon)

It has been a long, long time since I have floated the North Santiam from Greens bridge to Jefferson. Anybody know what the condition of that stretch is like?

I sent an e-mail to Bill Sanderson (used to host the 'learn the river' trips), however, I haven't heard back.

Just wondering if anybody knows of any obstacles or issues.

Thanks,
Chris

The flow is currently at 2200 cfs. Winter steelhead are available and spring Chinook will be in shortly. Like all tribs in the Willamette Valley, the fishery is far below conditions of 20-30 years ago but you would have a good chance of hooking up. Good luck.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.

Right after I posted this I heard back from Bill. He said a few of the side channels had trees in them, but the main channels were obstacle clear as far as he knew.

No obstacles or issues when I floated it 8 days ago. Above Greens Bridge is still very scary

Good to know

Thanks for the update. I did the float on Sunday, Greens to Jefferson, and it was easy at this water level. However, the river has changed a lot in 10 years. I didn't recognize anything but the putin and takeout.
