Not in Washington, but in the neighborhood, but the Sandy and Clackamas rivers are accessible. I have traveled from the east to fish these rivers in the winter. Have found some accessible water, but not always to myself.

I'm way out of touch on access ....

Lower Kalama River or the Cowlitz. From a local I'd love to know how the Toutle has recovered.

There are a few winter fish showing up along the Oregon coast---very few. The fish I have heard of are hatchery brats. I think it may be a little while longer.

Please donít low-hole me and pull my pig.

It had a slight rebound but now is suffering the same plight as all Washington steelhead. With that the Cow is probably your best bet.

I got 'lucky!' the morning the mountain blew up. Was to take my travel trailer down and install same at the Wyhrs camp ground. Leave at 3am, there by 530, fishing by 7. Woke up feeling like 'heck' and I'll do it tomorrow.

Watching TV and BOOM!

I guess God was not done with me in his 'Plan.' Year later drove the area, there were a few places I knew where I was. Beyond that total desicration as far as the eye (and Police) would let you go.

Costs me a lot every year but I keep my insurance/special riders piled up to my ears. As an old friend/Mentor once said: "You only have to collect once." Auto insurance is a good example; haven't had a claim in at least 20 years .... tomorrow?

Auto: With the number of drivers, with out 'insurance,' on the road, get/keep your butt covered! Highly recommend USAA.

I was on the Shoug today and boy did it feel fishy out! No bites but I did talk to one very courteous gear angler that stuck a 16# hatchery buck this morn. Who knows maybe there will be a few fish around this year for a change
