Alaska guide recommendation needed?

My wife and I are putting together a two week trip to Alaska for next summer. Initial plans are for a roughly a day and a half for travel each way plus a 7 day cruise. Hopefully, that will leave me with 2 Ė 3 days for fishing.

Iíve never been to Alaska, Iíll need a guide. Iím more interested in grayling and rainbow than salmon. All recommendations for a guides in the Anchorage, Talkeetna, Glennallen, or even Valdez areas appreciated.

P.S. - My first choice would be Ard Stetts but Iíve tried contacting Ard twice now with no response to either my email or voice message yet. Given his excellent reputation heís probably very busy guy. Hence I need a back up plan.

Mr. Stetts Ė if you read this please PM me.

Had a great trip with Ard this past August for Alaskan Rainbows. If might be out in the bushes if he is out of touch. Did you contact him via email or phone?

I lived most of my life in Alaska and can HIGHLY recommend a few guides for you... 1. Brad Kirr (Alaska kenai fishing for fun) 2. Dan Hardy (D Rays guide service) 3. Orlando Gonzales (alaska on the fly) all three of them really enjoy swinging flies but will do whatever you want in order to make the trip good for you... I also know Ard and depending on what the weather is doing up there he may be bringing gear home from this last season or starting to haul gear out for next, DO NOT give up on him as he is a great guy that knows his stuff! Ard can get you away from the crowds and give a real alaskan experience.... the other 3 guys will get you on huge numbers of big fish on the kenai so either way it would be a good time!

If you have any other questions or specifics feel free to shoot me a PM

I had Brad guide us thru the Russian River in the Kenai and had a blast for sockeye salmon.

First time combat fishing.
