Steelhead Opportunities Near Victor Idaho

Thinking about making a move to this part of the world and was interested in the closest Steelhead opportunities.

So far the research I have put in have yielded:

Stanley Idaho and the Salmon: 5 hours

Peck Idaho and the Clearwater: 10 hours

Not looking for any spots or honey holes just river systems I can look into. Thanks for any directions.

You have your answer already. Add 30 mins to the Clearwater and you have the Snake and another 30 for the Grand Rhonde. From that corner of the a State you have nothing close.

Victor is on the far east side of the State, Steelhead are on the far west. Kind of a cool looking small town per Google.

You will have to drive some for the Steelhead, but great trout fishing on the South Fork of the Snake, Teton River and many of the rivers in neighboring Wyoming.. Victor is a nice town and beautiful area...

As for the Salmon, Stanley is not really the spot. From Victor, it is about 3.5 hours to the Salmon/North Fork area. Mid-October used to be prime time, but it seems like over the last couple of years it has pushed back to early November. Stanley is pretty far up the river and people fish there in the spring and it should not take 5 hours to get there.

The Clearwater should take about 9+/- hours from Victor/Driggs. It's an easy drive.

It's 13-14 hours to the west coast rivers and about 24 hours to BC water.

Did you ever find good swing water in the Jackson/Teton Valley area?

Thank you for the input. I was able to get out on the water with my switch rod for a few hours at the Wilson Bridge. It was still running high and dirty which made it difficult to find fishable water. Caught some great fish on the single handed down on the Green!
