Copper River Motel isn't far out of town and is recommended
I'm a huge fan of the CRM. I've stayed in the Copper River Motel for over ten years. It's close to the mouth of the Copper(duh), but even if you're fishing elsewhere or spending time in town it's only 12 minutes to Lakelse Drive and Safeway, the booze store and tackle shops.
The rooms are comfortable, super clean and have microwaves, coffee pots, fridges and free WiFi. The mattresses are firm and the rooms are quiet. You can wash and dry laundry on premises for a couple a bucks a load. There's a small tackle selection and snack foods at reception as well.
Proprietors Gloria and James let anglers print out their classified licenses at reception and are as helpful as their predecessors, the Kumpholts. These owner-operated places come with a lot of positive energy and customer service.
... and if your day's fishing takes you east upstream on the Skeena towards the Hazeltons, you've got a 12 minute headstart on the rest of the pack!
The method doesn't matter to the fish.
