Any ideas for a winter/spring trip to Oregon Coast?

I would like to fishing for steelhead on the Oregon Coast next winter or spring. This is one area I have not fished and would like to do so next season. I am looking for ideas on locations, better months to go, rods to bring, places to stay and/or guides to try. Weather is not an issue. I do not have a boat so access will be walk in or guided, depending on the fishery. Thanks for your time and your help. Stu

watch for a report

will be there from May 10-18

I think I fish, in part, because itís an anti-social, bohemian business that, when gone about properly, puts you forever outside the mainstream culture without actually landing you in an institution. ĖJohn Gierach

the oregon coast is huge, so ya know. there are the portland coastal streams all the way down to california border stuff. Lots of shops in portland to get a hold of. Down here hit up the ashland fly shop for guides.

Timing wise, late december is the earliest, late february the latest. January and february can be nice on the coast.

Good luck, lots of choices and areas, I'd say pick north or south and go for it.

I have been to Oregon Coast but many years ago with my college fellows. It is a beautiful destination to explore in U.S. state of Oregon. This region offers a lot of incredible spots to see and a wide range of adventures activities to enjoy. A lot of prettiest sandy beaches are also located in this destination.
