Been following this closely for a couple of weeks (the announcement) and they're 'upside down.' How you can build/sell "80,000 rods and suffer" close to 3/4 million dollar loss .......

I'd love to review their financial statement; would be an interesting read.

You never know, maybe the new owners can turn the company around for the next 100+ yrs.

X2
you could see it coming fred , they made like 12 million in rev and took a loss of $500,000 , numbers just don't add up , that's the reason last year the head guy stepped aside or was let go

something amiss , beside money

the company has turned itself around with some good rods and even getting back to having reels made in the uk again

dutchie

Hardys, Dingleys , Old J.W. Young reels , buy & sell
R.B Meiser Spey Rods , Simms , Farlex Reels , Nextcast lines

Methinks

it was a case of the parent company stripping out as much as possible in order to effect a quick sale.

The parent company has stated they wish to move from manufacturing based industries in to strictly investments...

This actually could be very good news. Hardy needs to be owned by a company that is passionate about fishing tackle, and is willing to invest in long term growth with vision.... Kind of like the Hardy family.
