Taking any and all recommendations for a great reel pairing for the Loomis 7130 Asquith. What balances well, what do you love to fish with? Been mostly thinking Hardy perfect 4-4.25” or Cascapedia, but open to all suggestions!

I too am a fan of Hardy reels but be careful of the Cascapedia they are heavy. If it were me I would look to a Farlex or a Saracione depending on budget. I own both and wouldn't part with either. Plus they are local guys for you.
Emel - I hadn't heard of the Farlex or Saracione until you mentioned them - both look like incredible reels. Having just bought myself the 7130 for Xmas I'll wait until my birthday to get into one of these!

I’d choose the 4” Bougle or a Danielsson. There are several choices available from Sweden. I think an empty reel weighing around 8 ounces will be about perfect when loaded.
Glcaddis - thanks for the weight reco, super helpful. I went out with my 3Tand T-100 (9.5oz empty) and 540g skagit compact - reel (& line weight) was maybe a little heavy but overall pretty close, so 8oz sounds about right. As for the Bougle - beautiful reel, can't say I know the main difference between the Bougle and the Perfect. Seems like for the same size the Bougle weighs less, which in this case is advantageous.

Thank you all for your suggestions!

The main difference between the Bougle' and the Perfect, in my eyes, is the finish (obviously) and the porting. Internally, they are essentially the same. The aluminum may be lighter on the Bougle', but there is definitely more porting to reduce the weight. The original Bougle' was to be a lighter weight version of the Perfect.

Hi All - thank you again for all of the great advice on reels. I wanted to post the results of my search and a weight test I did at the recommendation of member jdcross:

Results: 8-10oz reel seems to be the ideal range for the 7130. 10oz could be a little heavy if you like to hold the rod at the top of the cork during the swing. 8 is maybe a little light depending on line (though jdcross aptly pointed out that the line in the guides pretty much nets out the backing/running line in the reel). Based on this I'm picking up a Farlex 3.75" platewind per a suggestion on a separate thread, which I'm excited to try on the river once received.

I did also buy a late 1940's Hardy 4.25" Perfect that was too cool not buy, despite being MUCH too heavy for this rod. I'll just have to admire it until I find a bigger stick to mate it to for those bigger finned muses...

Again - thank you all for your input! For those curious about the "ideal weight test" I used I posted the method here: https://www.speypages.com/speyclave/59-rods/348289-asquith-7130-a.html#post2490258
