Yes when? I want that 462 gr! I’ve got the next two up and love them, but that is my dream summer line for my part of the world. Of course it comes out after spending a year tracking down and acquiring some unicorn lines.

Edit: passed in the either, sry.

Got one on the way from Poppy. Sent him email and he just added the 7/8 to the pull down menu for me - very nice of him. That is pretty close to the definition of “eager beaver”.

Hello everyone,
Looking at the gaelforce site, I'm wondering about the weight of the lines:
in 8/9
54 'of belly for 34 gr
63 'of belly for 46 gr
The 54 'seems very very light it is the weight of a shoot!

i had poppy send me a 462g esh head for my meiser 13'6,7,8 , with a grain window of 450-750 . might be the coolest thing to happen since i first picked up a 2h rod . sick !! 14' polys and long mono leaders will toss a big iron no problem . i also grabbed a 54' 8/9 here on sp for the same rod . headed to the river this am . i've never cast a line that long before . we'll see what happens . i'll report back.
funny thing , i was casting esh with a 3/0 iron and a huge carp sucked up the fly ! quite a battle .
thanks , jim

I'm very interested to read your report since I have the same rod

Same here on the 13678. I use the next one up on it, and would even use a scandi compact around 480-510 on it, but until now I haven’t been able to try a lighter Equalizer. I suspect I may still prefer the heavier one for that rod. I’m hoping to use the 7/8 on my Meiser 14246 and Burkie 6139. The latter seems a little closer to a 7wt, but I will be insanely happy if I can get away with it on the Meiser. I have a feeling this might finally be my dry line holy grail.

Going to cross my fingers and try to remember Bruce’s rule of thumb that for longer lines the taper is more important that the weight!

I have a very good feeling that 8/9 73ft Equalizer will be a winner on my 16ft 6/7/8-5pc Highlander
