I use a Hardy Cascapedia 8/9 and a Taupo on my 11 1/2 foot Hardy Swift rods and a Sage Spectrum Max 7/8 on my 14 foot X rod. Those reels hold integrated mid belly lines and enough backing for the fish here.

I use a JW Young pattern 10B 3 1/2 wide spool on my 13 7 Onyx #7.
It carries a midbelly plus lots of backing and has the right weight to balance the rod

I use a 3-3/4" on my 7134, and an old Abel super 8 on a 13' 7wt. I go from that to a 4-1/4" for a 15' 8wt. I have two 4" reels for 14' 7 and 8wts. None of these are large arbor.

Smallest reels I use on Spey or mini-Spey rods are Hardy St. John and Sage 509. These hold 5 or 6 wt Spey lines.

The smallest reel I use is a 3 3/4" XXX wide Olson G&P (round). It goes on my 12'6" 6/7 MKS and 13' 6/7/8 Highlander.
I have a 4" Bougle that is strapped to my 10' 8wt Quantum single hander (Godshall) and it balances very nicely.
My daughter Celeste uses a 4" Hardy Ultralite Disc on her 11'7" 5/6/7 Highlander and she really likes it.
